Team Lungs on the Run
We are a fundraising organization founded by Margaret Carfora, a Cystic Fibrosis Warrior. Margaret and Team Lungs on the Run are dedicated to helping the Boomer Esiason Foundation find a cure for CF.
Our Founder
Margeret Carfora was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at three months old. She received treatment and care throughout her childhood and into early adulthood. However, in 2004 her health deteriorated to end stage levels. Fortunately, she received a life saving double lung transplant at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Since then, she has survived numerous complications related to CF, including esophageal, cervical and finally breast cancer which required a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery in 2016. Today, she is as strong and healthy as ever and dedicated to the mission to find a cure for CF!
Our Mission
Marge founded Team Lungs on the Run to help those with CF through fundraising, encouragement and fitness. TLOTR works in conjunction with our sponsors to raise awareness about the disease. Our charity events and fundraising efforts go directly to benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation in their fight to find a cure for CF.
